Candace holds a Master’s Degree in Counselling and graduated in 2005. For over a decade she has been working in community service and child and youth mental health settings in BC while also teaching on suicide prevention and leading various therapy groups.
Candace went on to receive extensive training using alternative therapies and supervision in working with children, adolescents and families experiencing grief and loss, sexually intrusive behaviour issues and sexual abuse concerns. She then went on to train & equip other mental health teams the art of working with these concerns.
The focus of her work is on grief and loss, post-partum concerns, depression, anxiety, self-injury, and sexual intrusion. She thoroughly enjoys working with teenagers and adults. Candace also enjoys her partnership with Whistler Community Services as an affiliate counsellor and in co-facilitating a Post-Partum group for WCSS called Birth Baby & Beyond for our rapidly growing community of new moms here in Whistler.
When she is not working you will find her enjoying Whistler with her husband and two young children. She is a mountain woman at heart and enjoys skiing, paddle boarding, hiking and adventuring into the forest, though the ocean often calls her name to refresh her soul. She savours a coffee in the early morning and tea into the evening while creating healthy treats or drinks to share with friends and family.
